FEATURING LIVE CHAMBER MUSIC BY THE EARHART TRIO, CLASSICAL GUITAR BY MIKE YEE, KEVIN MCDOWELL, AND JASON HENKLE, AND MORE!

ABOUT THE EARHART TRIO

Named after Amelia Earhart, the Earhart Trio was founded in 2024 by pianist Kumiko Uyeda, violinist Kate Stenberg, and cellist Mary Artmann. The trio was created out of a desire to perform chamber music that advocates the nurturing of the earth’s environment while maintaining the spirit and love of traditional chamber music. The trio is dedicated to bringing diverse, exciting, and thoughtful music to audiences and enjoy performing both lesser-known works as well as beloved masterpieces of the repertoire. Living and working around the SF Bay Area, the illustrious members of the group have rich and varied background in performing and teaching.

MIKE YEE has studied classical guitar since 1975 and taught guitar at the San Luis School of Music in 1980. Since then, he has been a closet musician to balance his engineering activities.

KEVIN MCDOWELL has been playing guitar since 1969, graduated from San Jose State with a bachelor of arts in guitar in 1987, and has ben a certified Suzuki guitar instructor since 1989. He taught classical guitar at Bethany University in Santa Cruz and various public and private schools in the area. He performed with his two daughters, playing violin, cello, and guitar for 25 years. Kevin is currently teaching 10 students and playing at a variety of venues in Siskiyou County.

After studying forestry and music at College of the Siskiyous, JASON HENKLE left Siskiyou County to study Forest Ecology at Humboldt Polytechnic while writing and performing in an indie rock band for 3 years. After graduating, he returned to Siskiyou County as a forest manager and picked up classical guitar again. Once a student of Mr. Yee, Jason has been studying and playing guitar since 2014 and recently started a musical YouTube channel.
